Sadly, I am enjoying my last few days of maternity leave this week. Sophie and I have been shopping b/c I have NO work clothes that fit... oh, the joys of motherhood. She is getting to be so much fun- she is napping more regularly, sleeping through the night, and doing lots interacting. She just started two new things this week- real giggles (not just squeaks)- it is so funny b/c she just cracks up when you tickle her... and she is grasping objects intentionally. Everyday is such a joy- I feel lucky to have had 12 weeks- but nonetheless I am not looking forward to getting back to reality. Sophie's Bia is coming this weekend and staying to take care of her through September, and then she'll go to day care at the end of September. I just can't fathom what it will be like to only see her a few hours a day. I guess I'll get used to it??!!

Swimming!
Mommy and I have been swimming at her friend's pool. At first, I wasn't so sure about the pool, but then I really started to dig it. Check out my ridiculously cute bathing suit, hat and cover-up that my friends Phil & Vivian got for me. They thought I might be able to wear it at the pool in California when we go for their wedding in September (I can't wait!)... But mommy says it probably won't fit by then... but its cool, b/c we are getting plenty of use out of it right now!

Final Days at Burt
After returning to Burt after our short visit to Cincinnati for Jessie's funeral, we were able to relax, unwind, and enjoy our family for a couple of days. We are home in Virginia now, but I have a bunch of pictures I haven't shared, so over the next couple of days, I'll post our final Burt Lake days. This batch was taken at the park in Petoskey with Lake Michigan in the background. We are living life to its fullest, having been reminded by Jessie how very precious it is.

Our family suffered the tragic and unexpected loss of Oliver's sister, Jessica Logan on July 3, 2008. Jessie was eighteen, just graduated from high school and had plans to attend the University of Cincinnati. She was a kind, caring, loving and beautiful young woman with an amazing sense of humor. Daddy's Here!
Hi Everybody. Daddy arrived Sunday night in time for the landing get together. Since then, we've been having the best time walking, hanging on the dock, and going for boat rides.
