Baby Boot Camp

This weekend we went to visit law school friends Mike and Alicia Kroll in Minneapolis, MN. We were excited to spend time with Mike and Al and their 2 boys Wesley (almost 3) and Spencer (almost 1). We thought we'd see what parenting was all about. Ollie was calling it "baby boot camp"- and, to say the least, it lived up to its name. As soon as we arrived, little Spencer started throwing up and was up all night Friday with a stomach flu. Poor guy. I tried to steer clear of him- but it didn't work. On Saturday night, I started throwing up at about 11:30 pm and eventually made my way to the hospital on Sunday AM. My OB was worried about my increased heart rate and dehydration and the possibility of preterm labor. So, we spent an extra day in Minneapolis in the hospital. On the upside, Sophie and I are just fine now; a little weak but otherwise feeling better. Oliver is home sick today though. What an adventure! Sorry no pictures of Mike and Al- once the throwing up began for me, the camera went away for the weekend.

We did manage to have a great time Friday night and Saturday, though. We think Mike and Al are doing an amazing job parenting, we learned a lot, and had some wonderful conversations. We only hope we do half as well as they are doing with those kids! Alicia and I also managed to squeeze in a trip to the Hanna Anderson outlet and Sophie got some of the cutest clothes for the best deals I have ever seen! I'm getting excited....

Twenty-five Weeks

Everyone has been asking for an updated picture. Here it is! As you can see, I'm suddenly getting a lot bigger. I am still feeling pretty good, just some heartburn and sciatic nerve troubles, but nothing too bad yet. We are now scheduled for upcoming Childbirth, Baby Care, Breastfeeding, and Infant CPR classes and finalizing shower plans. We can't believe Sophie will be here in three short (and busy) months!

New Years 2008

We had a great time at Burt Lake in Northern Michigan for New Years with Mom and Scottie and our good friends Jeff and Annie Silone and Jen Hayburn. We read and relaxed and loved watched Michigan stomp on Florida (yeah!). So much for SEC speed! There was a ton of snow and everyone had a great time skiing- except Briana, who was sidelined due to the pregnancy. We know she'll be worth it!

Equine Synchronized Sleeping

Well Henry, Mosby & Will have entered two-a-day training in preparation for this summer's Olympic Equestrian Synchronized Sleeping event in Beijing, China. As you can see there is much work to be done but we think the talent and motivation are there. According to some local trainers we could be looking at some real medal contenders. The horses took up synchronized sleeping in August upon learning of Briana's pregnancy. As you can see the boys are naturals yet Henry and Will insist that they will continue their Eventing careers after the Olympic games this summer and Briana is OK to begin riding again.

Christmas 2007

We were happy to have Annabel, Emily & Doug visit for Christmas. Ollie, Doug & Em finished the beadboard in Sophie's room and we were spoiled by FIVE amazing home cooked dinners. We are so lucky Annabel is testing out recipes for her new restaurant. Thanks Mom!
